Mrs. Debra Mayhew graduated from Immanuel Lutheran College in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, in 1995 with an Associate of Arts degree. She spent 12 years home-schooling her own children, during which time she learned to appreciate the many different ways children learn.

Debra also taught a variety of classes at Summit Academy in Lawrenceville, Georgia, including writing, literature, and piano. After moving to Minnesota, Debra taught physical education and art part-time at Immanuel Lutheran School in Mankato, Minnesota. Debra believes in the power of reading aloud to children and loves finding new, creative ways to instill a life-long love of learning in each child.

Debra is married to Pastor Nathanael Mayhew and they have been blessed with seven children, ages 5 to 20. Her hobbies include reading good books, writing and scrolling Pinterest for new preschool ideas.
